Tests available by location and hours of operation

Springfield Clinic offers state of the art diagnostic imaging procedures in a relaxing and private environment in several clinic locations throughout central Illinois.  Hours of operation vary by location and test.

Below you will find a list showing available services at each location:

Body Mass Assessment (BMA) is the ratio of lean body mass to fat body mass. Too much fat can lead to serious health problems like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some joint diseases. Measuring body mass provides a more accurate picture of your overall health than simply stepping on a scale or calculating your body mass index. While BMI measurements are easy to perform, scale weight is measured without regard to its composition.

Take charge of your health!

Springfield Clinic Radiology is now offering Body Mass Assessment (BMA) using DXA-the gold standard in BMA testing. DXA, Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry, scans measure your total body fat composition. One short, simple scan provides a wealth of valuable information about your health.

Scans only take a few minutes and use a low dose of radiation; less than the background radiation you’re exposed to on a cross-country flight.

Cost: $100 at time of service. This is not billed to insurance.

The Genius® 3D Mammography™

This high-resolution 3D™ imaging technology on the Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam provides radiologists with the fastest and highest resolution three-dimensional images in the industry1 to help identify cancers early. This latest innovation is part of Springfield Clinic’s steadfast commitment to superior breast cancer detection and improved breast health for all women. We are the first in Central Illinois to obtain this latest technology.

This exam detects more invasive cancers, reduces false positives, and is FDA approved as superior compared to conventional two-dimensional mammography for all women, including those with dense breasts. 2,3,4

Interventional Radiology

Interventional Radiology allows providers to diagnose and treat many conditions in an outpatient procedure using a small needle. Through a small incision, providers use ultrasounds, CT scans or MRIs to target specific areas for diagnosis and treatment. This typically allows the patient to avoid general anesthesia and surgery. Interventional radiology is especially important for cancer treatment.

Interventional Radiology Services

Arterial disease

Peripheral arterial disease is a condition caused by hardening of the arteries over time. This interferes with the normal flow of blood and can be dangerous if left untreated. Interventional radiology treatments include angioplasty, stents, thrombolytic therapy and stent-grafts.

Dialysis access

Dialysis treatment is for patients who have lost a significant amount of kidney function. Interventional radiologists insert dialysis catheters, manage catheter placement and perform other procedures to help ensure proper access.

Hospital-based procedures

Interventional radiologists work closely with hospitalists to help diagnose conditions and treat various symptoms or diseases. Conditions like a pulmonary embolism, embolization (blocking) of blood vessels, abscess drainage and many more are all treated with the assistance of interventional radiology.

Men's health

Patients struggling with urinary tract symptoms caused by an underlying prostate condition can be treated by an interventional radiologist using an X-ray or other advanced imaging.

Neurointerventional

Our highly-trained radiologists use medical imaging to perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat conditions of the brain, neck and spine.

Pain / spine intervention

Severe migraines, painful fractures, epidural steroid injection, nerve root blocks and several other conditions are regularly treated through interventional radiology.

Venous disease

Interventional radiology is used for diagnosis and treatment for patients experiencing painful varicose veins, deep vein thrombosis and those struggling with blood-clotting issues.

Women's health

Treatment for fibroids, pelvic conditions or other conditions causing excessive bleeding or pain can be managed and treated through interventional radiology.

Interventional Oncology

Interventional oncology plays an important role in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Our radiologists will work closely with your cancer team to determine the best treatment plan, which will often be used in combination with other therapies.

Interventional oncology procedures provide minimally invasive treatment for cancer by utilizing guided imaging to treat cancerous tumors. Interventional radiologists at Springfield Clinic can provide the following services to patients:

  • Radioembolization for liver cancer

  • Minimally invasive ablation for live and kidney cancer

  • Port and gastrostomy placement

Interventional oncology is typically reserved for patients who do not qualify for surgery, often due to the size or location of their tumor.
