Kathleen Kay, MD

Kathleen Kay, MD, earned her medical degree and completed her residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She completed a foot and ankle fellowship at University of Washington Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Dr. Kay's inspiration to pursue a career in medicine came from her father who serves as an ophthalmologist in Effingham. Her desire to become an orthopedic surgeon grew out of her desire to help patients with mobility issues. "You can't get around if you can't walk; you can't enjoy kicking a ball around with your kids," she says. "It's incredibly satisfying to help patients regain their mobility and return to a more active, pain-free life."
