Since 2010, Benjamin Stevens, MD, has been part of the Springfield Clinic Orthopedic Surgery department in Springfield. Dr. Stevens earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center in Grand Rapids, Mich., and his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Sigvard T. Hansen Jr. Foot and Ankle Institute in Seattle, Wash.
A career in the medical field was always a goal for Dr. Stevens. “I knew from a young age I wanted to be not only a physician, but a surgeon,” he says.
His practice is focused on foot and ankle reconstruction. “It’s easy for the foot and the ankle to affect every step you take,” he says. “Consequently, it is gratifying when you can help people out with their foot and ankle injuries because it changes their life for the better.”
Dr. Stevens’ practice is one of the few foot and ankle specialists in Illinois. He provides various care options including, but not limited to, revision surgeries, reconstruction fusions and complex trauma repairs.
