Lindsey Atwood, MD, has joined Springfield Clinic’s Primary Care team and is now seeing patients at Springfield Clinic Main Campus West.

Dr. Atwood earned her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield. She completed her residency program at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind.

"For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a doctor," Dr. Atwood says. "When I was young, I loved watching the television drama ER with my mom, Mary Atwood, who is a nurse practitioner with Springfield Clinic, and thought their jobs looked really fun."

Born and raised in Springfield, Dr. Atwood is very excited to provide care in the community she grew up in and felt that Springfield Clinic was the natural fit for her.

"I love being an internal medicine and pediatrics physician because I get to walk with my patients throughout their life journey," Dr. Atwood says. "I also enjoy getting to treat entire families and develop relationships with all of them."

In her free time, Dr. Atwood enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys engaging in outdoor activities.
