Tosha Donnals, APRN, DNP, CNP, provides care with our Springfield Clinic Hospital Medicine team.

She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, and her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the Millikin University. She has more than eight years of nursing experience, including the last two years as a neurohospitalist.

Tosha transitioned into a health care career after a special team of people took care of her youngest son early in his life. 

"My youngest son experienced a life-threatening illness at a young age and, during his treatment, I fell in love with the treatment team who helped save his life," Tosha says. "I felt like nursing was what I wanted to do with my life." 

Originally a critical care nurse, Tosha became a nurse practitioner to widen her impact on the community.

"I not only enjoy treating patients within the community," she says, "but also getting to know their family and loved ones. The patient and family work together in the healing process, and it's very important to recognize that as a health care provider." 

When Tosha isn't working, she loves to travel and spend time with her two sons.
