Timothy Belden, APRN, CNP, provides care with our Springfield Clinic Hospital Medicine team.

He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from Regis University in Denver, CO., and his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rush University in Chicago. He has more than 25 years of health care experience. Prior to joining Springfield Clinic, he served as a nurse practitioner at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Ill., and performed home visits with UnitedHealthcare. Much of his previous nursing experience was in the cardiac and critical care arenas.

"My mother always wanted to be a nurse and left her nursing and medical education books around for me to read," says Tim. "As a teenager, I took an EMT class and was hooked on the study of medicine."

Tim is excited to continue his career as a nurse practitioner in a hospital setting.

"I love the hospital setting, it is where I thrive," says Tim. "There are so many things to learn, and I continue to do so daily."

In his free time, Tim enjoys a good Netflix show and reading about current events. He also spends time volunteering with the Salvation Army in Bloomington, Ill.
