Julia incorporates the principles of "true occupation" throughout the continuum of care for her patients. Occupational therapy (OT) refers to a holistic approach of treatment as the roles (occupation) which encompass a patient's life are identified and the impact of the patient's disability or health condition is explored to determine how it may hinder their ability to fulfill those life roles. As an occupational therapist, Julia includes rehabilitation, adaption and compensation methods to lead a patient along their journey back to wellness. Whether her patient presents with orthopedic injuries of the hand, is de-conditioned after cancer, or struggles with problematic swelling and chronic wounds, Julia strives to employ the most current clinical research principles to achieve the best functional outcomes for them.
