Ashley Rossi, MD, will provide internal medicine care with the Springfield Clinic Sherman primary care team starting this month.

Dr. Rossi was introduced to the field of internal medicine at a young age while her grandparents were helping to raise her. She often accompanied them to doctor’s appointments and watched them manage their health issues. While she at first wanted to be a doctor as a child, she explored many different kinds of career paths before coming back to medicine as her true passion in college. She then attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, Ill., for medical school, followed by her internal medicine residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, R.I.

Dr. Rossi will practice general internal medicine and can provide primary care for adults at Springfield Clinic Sherman. She considers her role as a primary care provider as being a patient’s overall health manager, handling consultants and making sure they get the preventive care they need. Dr. Rossi loves internal medicine, she says, because of the relationships she gets to build with patients. “I think it’s amazing to watch humans as we go through decades of our life. To me, making sure there’s high quality of life is of the utmost importance.”

Dr. Rossi grew up in southern Illinois, and after a decade living in cities training to become a physician, she knew she was interested in more of a small town feel for her practice. When she’s not in the office, she loves being outdoors, bicycle riding, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, walking and running.

The internists with Springfield Clinic focus on preventive health, including age- and gender-appropriate screenings to detect diseases and conditions. Our team treats adult illnesses and helps you manage the complexities of chronic conditions. Springfield Clinic Sherman is located at 400 St. John’s Drive in Sherman.
