Sculptra is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps to rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments. The stimulated collagen growth helps restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds over time. Learn more >

A typical series of injections include two vials initially, 8 weeks later a 3rd vial, 8 weeks later a 4th vial then maintenance of a vial per year. Occasionally, with severe volume depletion, two vials can be used on the 2nd treatment. Sculptra results that can last more than two years. It can be used in combination with dermal filler and/or neuromodulators.

The most common side effects after initial treatment include injection site swelling, tenderness, redness, pain, bruising, bleeding, itching and lumps. Other side effects may include small lumps under the skin that are sometimes noticeable when pressing on the treated area. Larger lumps, some with delayed onset with or without inflammation or skin discoloration, have also been reported.
