HOW DOES IT WORK?

Springfield Locations

When you arrive at the designated Springfield Clinic location, you will be greeted at your car and directed to a designated parking spot to wait. You will then call the phone number on the sign at the parking spot to get registered and receive further instructions. After your lab work or flu shot has been completed, drive home.

For routine lab work, any lab results will be available by phone or through your patient portal. You will not receive any results at the drive-up location; results will be available through normal processes (by phone call or available through your patient portal).

Effingham Location

When you have scheduled an appointment, you can arrive at the Springfield Clinic Effingham drive-up lab location (300 N. Maple Street) at your designated time. You will follow signs to pull into a spot, then call the number on the sign in front of you to register and receive further instructions. You will not be able to receive services if you do not make an appointment ahead of time.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Patients who do not see doctors at Springfield Clinic, Memorial Physician Services and SIU Medicine can still utilize drive-ups for routine lab work but will need physical orders in hand.

Flu shots
Flu vaccines are reserved for Springfield Clinic patients. To get your flu shot at one of these locations you do not need a physician’s order or an appointment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m not a Springfield Clinic patient. Can I still use these drive-ups?

Patients who do not see doctors at Springfield Clinic, Memorial Physician Services and SIU Medicine can still be seen at these drive-ups for routine lab work but will need physical orders in hand.

Flu vaccines are reserved for patients with a Springfield Clinic primary care physician. Find a Springfield Clinic provider.

How do drive-up labs handle routine urine samples?

If a patient has a urine test ordered, they can still come to the drive-up lab site, but the specimen will not be physically collected on-site. Instead, patients will receive a urine cup or 24-hour urine jug to take home and collect. Patients can then return the cup with the urine specimen to the drive-up lab at their convenience, and our team will process the sample.

How can I use these drive-up labs instead of going into a Springfield Clinic facility?

Find a drive-up site near you and show up during the operating business hours! No appointment necessary.

Will I receive lab results on the spot?

You will not receive any results at the drive-up location; results will be available through normal processes (by phone call or available through your patient portal).
