Thirteen Physicians to Join Springfield Clinic on Oct. 1

(October 1, 2019) Thirteen physicians in six specialties will join Springfield Clinic on Oct. 1, 2019.

Cancer Center
Rajesh Bande, MD, received his medical degree from NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Medical College in Vijayawada, India. He then completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at University of Arkansas Medical Sciences College of Medicine in Little Rock, Ark. He is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Dr. Bande will be located at St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield and at St. Francis Hospital Specialty Clinic in Litchfield.

Archana Nayani, MD, received her medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, India. She then attended University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., for her residency in internal medicine followed by her fellowship in hematology & medical oncology. She is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Dr. Nayani will be located at St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield and at St. Francis Hospital Specialty Clinic in Litchfield.

Michael Payne Jr., MD, completed his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Ill. He had an internal medicine internship year at University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by his residency in radiation oncology at University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kan., and his fellowship in radiation oncology at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Payne will be located at St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.

Hui Zhang, MD, completed his medical degree at Shanxi Medical University in Taiyuan, China. He then finished his residency in internal medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio, and his fellowship in hematology & medical oncology at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. He is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

Dr. Zhang will be located at St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield and at St. Francis Hospital Specialty Clinic in Litchfield.

Gastroenterology

Sanjay Bangarulingam, MD, received his medical degree from Mysore Medical College and Research Institute in Mysore, India. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Ill., followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Virginia Commonwealth University-Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va., and a fellowship in advanced therapeutic ERCP/EUS at GI Associates in Milwaukee, Wis. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Bangarulingam will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street in Springfield.

Rahul Nayani, MD, MPH, received his medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, India. He went on to get a Master of Public Health at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn. Following his graduate studies, he completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo., followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Nayani will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street in Springfield.

General Surgery

Shuja Ahmed, MD, completed his medical degree at Dow Medical College. He then finished his residency in general surgery at St. Louis University School of Medicine, where he was chief resident, followed by a fellowship in surgical oncology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. He is board certified in surgery and surgical oncology.

Dr. Ahmed will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street in Springfield.

Pulmonary

Jeremiah Reedy, MD, completed his medical degree at University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minn., followed by residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary & critical care at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is board certified in pulmonary disease, sleep medicine, critical care and internal medicine.

Dr. Reedy will be located at Springfield Clinic Main Campus West at 1025 South 6th Street in Springfield.

Trauma Surgery

Jared Bernard, MD, FACS, completed his medical degree, general surgery residency and critical care surgery fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, Minn. He is board certified in general surgery and critical care surgery.

Dr. Bernard will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street and St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.

Patrick Collier, MD, received his medical degree from University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in general surgery at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Mich., followed by his fellowship in surgical critical care at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Ill. He is board certified in general surgery and critical care surgery.

Dr. Collier will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street and St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.

Chetan Gowda, MD, completed his medical degree at Sri Siddhartha Medical College in Tumkur, India. He then completed an internship in general surgery at University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine followed by his residency in general surgery and fellowship in surgical critical care at University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Fla. 

Dr. Gowda will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street and St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.

Elijah Kim, MD, MPH, FACS, FCCP, received a graduate degree from Columbia University in New York City and his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai-Atlantic Health System in New Jersey, where he was chief resident. He then went on to complete a fellowship in surgical critical care at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. He is board certified in critical care surgery and general surgery.

Dr. Kim will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street and St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.

Corydon Siffring, MD, FACS, received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, Ala. He completed a residency in general surgery at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, followed by a fellowship in critical care surgery at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He is board certified in critical care surgery and surgery.

Dr. Siffring will be located at Springfield Clinic Pavilion at 301 North 8th Street and St. John’s Hospital at 800 East Carpenter Street in Springfield.
