    Patient Portal

    NEW Portal Experience

    athenahealth logo

Starting Jan. 23, 2024, Springfield Clinic locations will start transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR), athenahealth. Athenahealth provides a modern and seamless way to access your patient information, appointments, medical history and billing statements in one platform.

At your first visit with a location that has transitioned to athenahealth, our front desk staff will send a personalized portal invitation to your email or mobile phone to enroll. Simply click the link provided and setup your account.

During this transition, patients will have appointment information in multiple portals depending on the provider and location of your visit. We will transition all Springfield Clinic locations to athenahealth by summer 2024. Your medical records in the FollowMyHealth portal will remain in your account and you will be able to continue accessing this historical information through your FollowMyHealth portal account. All future patient visits and test results will appear in the athenahealth portal. Click here to learn more about how this impacts your future visits.

Please refer to the "Which Portal Should I Access" section if you need help determining which portal to access based on the provider and location of your visit. We appreciate your patience during this time.

    Portal Access

During this transition, portal access will depend on the location and provider of your appointment. Locations that have transitioned to the new EHR will access the NEW athenahealth patient portal. Locations that have not yet transitioned will access the myHealth@SC (FollowMyHealth) patient portal. Please use the below guide to help determine which portal to access.

Contacting Your Provider(s) Through the Current Patient Portal

    • As providers transition to the new athenahealth platform, they will no longer be accessible to message on the FollowMyHealth patient portal. Rather than directly messaging these providers, please call their offices (access department-specific phone numbers here) if you have a question for your care team.

Accessing Your Medical Records in the Patient Portal

    • Your medical records in FollowMyHealth portal will remain and continue to be accessible in your account. However, all future patient visits and test results will appear in athenahealth once your provider has transitioned to the new system.

    • You can request medical records at any time online or by calling the Correspondence Section of Springfield Clinic's Health Information Management Department at 217.528.7541 ext. 77352

Starting Jan. 23, 2024, Springfield Clinic locations will start transitioning to a new electronic health record (EHR) system, athenahealth. With this change, historical medical records will remain and continue to be accessible in FollowMyHealth, but the patient portal will be discontinued for all new visits once your provider has transitioned to athenahealth.

FollowMyHealth data does NOT transfer to the new athenahealth portal. FollowMyHealth and athenahealth are two different software platforms. You will retain access to your medical records and historical data in FollowMyHealth for all visits prior to when you provider transitioned to athenahealth.

Patients looking to access medical records for any visit can request them online or by calling 217-528-7541 ext. 77352 to speak to our Health Information Management Department.

No, your account will not automatically transfer. Patients will need to re-enroll in the athenahealth patient portal and can do so at or after your first appointment with a provider/location that has transitioned to the new system. Please note that with this change, your historical medical records will remain in your FollowMyHealth account (and will continue to be accessible), but the patient portal will be discontinued for all new visits once your provider has transitioned to athenahealth.

It is recommended that patients enroll in an athenahealth portal account at the first appointment with a provider/location that has transitioned to the new system. Alternatively, existing Springfield Clinic patients can contact portal support at 217.528.7541 ext. 70228 and request a personalized invitation link to be sent via email or text message.

The athenahealth portal works best in the web browser version from your desktop or phone. While an iOS and Andriod app is available, we do not recommend downloading the app; it does not offer the same functionality as the web browser version.
