Welcome to Urology

In the Urology Department at Springfield Clinic, our well-trained team of physicians and mid-level providers specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary conditions for male and female patients of all ages, including kidney stones, disorders of the bladder and treatments for incontinence. In addition, we specialize in conditions of the male reproductive system, including: prostate cancer, vasectomies, microsurgical vasectomy reversal and pediatric urology.

In-office diagnostic procedures include:
  • Cystoscopy
  • Urodynamics
  • Voiding cystourethrograms
  • Prostate ultrasound
  • Vasectomies and reversals
Our pelvic floor therapy is available at our Springfield 1st office.

We believe that prostate cancer screening is vitally important, especially in men beginning at age 50 or at age 45 for men at higher risk (African-Americans and men who have had a father, brother or son with prostate cancer before age 65). The American Cancer Society has estimated that in 2009, nearly 200,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and over 42,000 will die. Other than skin cancer, prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death, behind lung cancer.  When referred to our specialists by your primary care physician, we offer a wide range of diagnosis and treatment options, including surgical solutions.

Prevention is the key to many diseases, including common problems like kidney stones. Our specialists are among the leaders in the area for surgical procedures and treatments. The surgeons of Springfield Clinic's Urology Department use state-of-the-art equipment, such as robotics and green light lasers for minimally invasive treatments, frequently reducing recovery time and some risks associated with surgery.

Common conditions, such as incontinence and impotence, can be embarrassing to discuss, even with your doctor. Our team absolutely respects your privacy and upholds your dignity. You can expect to be treated with competence and care.
