Top Conditions Treated

At The Sleep Disorders Center we see, test for and treat many conditions. There are many types of sleep problems. Disorders of sleeping and waking interfere with quality of life and personal health, and sleep disorders such as insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, sleep apnea and snoring are all more common than you may think.

  • Sleep Apnea is a serious, potentially life-threatening condition that is far more common than generally understood. Sleep Apnea occurs in all age groups and both genders.
  • Insomnia is defined as the perception or complaint of inadequate or poor-quality sleep because of the difficulty falling asleep, waking up frequently during the night with difficulty returning to sleep, waking up too early in the morning, and/or non-refreshing sleep.
  • Narcolepsy is a chronic, neurological sleep disorder with no known cause. It involves the body’s central nervous system.
  • Restless Leg Syndrome is a sleep disorder in which a person experiences unpleasant sensations in the legs, which have been described as creeping, crawling, tingling, pulling and painful.
  • Snoring is obstructed breathing. In addition to disturbed sleep patterns and sleep deprivation, other serious health problems may result.
