The instructions below must be followed in order to produce an accurate result. If these instructions are not followed your appointment may have to be rescheduled.
- If you have had an Influenza Vaccine 2 weeks prior to your appointment, a new appointment will need to be scheduled. This will affect the results.
- No Prednisone 7 days before testing.
- No caffeine 24 hours before testing.
- This includes soda, coffee, tea, chocolate, Excedrin or any other foods containing caffeine.
- No decaffeinated items, as these also contain caffeine. If in doubt, choose water, juice or white milk to drink.
- No antihistamines/cold medicines, Singulair or Accolate 48 hours before testing.
- No inhalers 24 hours before testing.
- No smoking 6 hours before testing.
- Do not eat 1 hour before testing.
- Please allow 1 hour for testing.
- If you think you may be pregnant or are breastfeeding, please notify your physician prior to test.
