Welcome to PromptCare

Fast, Convenient, Walk-in Medical Clinic — that's Springfield Clinic Prompt Care.

Springfield Clinic Prompt Care, one of the area’s first walk-in medical treatment centers, celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year. Prompt Care first opened its doors on March 2, 1992, with only two physicians on staff, including Larry Elkins, MD. Today, Springfield Clinic’s Prompt Care team includes 12 board-certified physicians and mid-level providers, and offers care at three locations. Read more of Prompt Care's story!

Springfield Clinic Prompt Care offers convenient and prompt care for those untimely common illnesses and minor injuries that require a doctor's attention, but may not be acute enough for a visit to the hospital emergency room.

For most patients, Prompt Care saves time and money. A visit to Prompt Care is considered an office visit by most insurance companies and a patient's out of pocket expense, or co-pay, is considerably less than a trip to the ER.

Springfield Clinic's Prompt Care is open 365 days a year and offers no hassle, walk-in medical care, provided by board-certified Family Medicine specialists. Our experienced team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses has the skills and experience to diagnose and treat your illness or injury quickly and provide appropriate treatment. In those acute cases when a trip to the hospital is advised, or in cases where follow up is necessary by the patient's regular doctor, the physicians and staff at Prompt Care will help coordinate the transfer of medical information and care.

Our locations are fully equipped with the necessary diagnostic services, including lab and X-ray. Just walk in and it's all right there.

Prompt Care doctors are part of Springfield Clinic's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, therefore all lab work, X-rays, physician notes, etc., are accessible by the patient's regular Springfield Clinic physician(s) or can be sent electronically to the emergency room. That saves money and valuable time when tests do not have to be repeated at the hospital or in the patient's regular doctor's office.
