Main Campus East
Upon its founding in 1939, Springfield Clinic built its first medical office in the heart of downtown Springfield near the intersection of 6th Street and Capitol Avenue. In 1951, a mere 12 years later, the practice had outgrown the available space and the partners opted to construct a more modern and spacious facility on the fringe of the downtown business district. The location selected was 1025 South 7th Street.
The medical practice grew continually for the next fifty years and major additions to the structure were completed in 1961, 1967 and 1991. Over time, through numerous mergers and acquisitions, the practice grew and the Clinic's primary location and corporate headquarters became commonly known as Main Campus.
In 2008, Springfield Clinic completed a major expansion effort that added a new 4-story medical office building directly west of the Main Campus facility. The new facility connected to the original Main Campus structure via a multi-story bridge building spanning South 6th Street.
With South 6th Street as its new center, Springfield Clinic's corporate address was changed to 1025 South 6th Street and the portion to the east, having had exclusive rights to the name Main Campus for many years, became known as Main Campus - East Building.
The Main Campus - East Building facility is home to several medical specialties and services, including Prompt Care Main, the Oncology Department's offices and infusion therapy center, Lab and Radiology.
Access to the Main Campus - West Building is available on Floors 1 and 2 of the East Building. Connecting elevators on the far west side of the building provide direct access to Main Campus - West Building Floors 2, 3 and 4.
Patient drop off is available at the Main Entrance. Our courteous staff is available to assist patients or their drivers with wheelchairs or other mobility devices and can help provide directions to physician offices. Ample patient parking is available to the south of the Main Entrance.
Main Campus West
In 2008, Springfield Clinic completed a major expansion effort that added a new 4-story medical office building directly west of its Main Campus facility at 1025 South 7th Street. The new facility connected to the original Main Campus structure via a multi-story bridge building spanning South 6th Street.
With South 6th Street as its new center, Springfield Clinic's corporate address was changed to 1025 South 6th Street and the portion to the west was officially named Main Campus - West Building. And, since the new 4-story structure and the three stories of offices suspended over 6th Street appear seamless from the building's interior, the entire addition is considered the West Building.
The Main Campus - West Building is home to more than 10 medical specialties, an Optical Centre, Springfield Clinic's administration and several business departments, including Human Resources and Clinical Research.
Access to the Main Campus East Building is available on Floors 2, 3 and 4 of the West Building. Connecting elevators on the far east side of the building provide direct access to Main Campus - East Building Floors 1 and 2.
Patient drop off is available at the Main Entrance. Our courteous staff is available to assist patients or their drivers with wheelchairs or other mobility devices and can help provide directions to physician offices. Ample patient parking is available to the south of the Main Entrance.
Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center
Springfield Clinic's Ambulatory Surgery & Endoscopy Center (ASC / EC) is Springfield's first free-standing facility designed for the convenience, privacy and comfort of our patients. The ASC / EC accommodates surgical procedures that are too complex for the physician's office, but do not require the in-patient facilities associated with a hospital setting. As a result, Springfield Clinic's ASC / EC is a high-quality, safe and cost effective environment for a wide variety of surgical procedures.
The ASC / EC is located at Springfield Clinic's Main Campus - East Building on the 2nd floor. The facility was recently expanded to include five surgical suites and four endoscopy procedure rooms. For patients, recent improvements include a centralized check-in, construction of expanded admitting areas and addition of state-of-the-art recovery bays.
For family members or friends accompanying patients, many new amenities add to the comfort and convenience of a visit to the Ambulatory Surgery and Endoscopy Center. These features include an expanded waiting area with more comfortable furnishings, a complimentary beverage bar, access to two on-site restaurants, a paging system and free Wi-Fi for wireless computing.
