Construction of Springfield Clinic Taylorville was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony on a perfect June day in 2008. The project, thanks to favorable weather conditions, stayed on track for its late summer 2009 opening.
The 40,000 square foot office building, which consolidated Christian County Medical Clinic, the Annex and Taylorville Medical Associates, houses a full-time medical team of physicians and mid-level providers and more than 60 staff members. Additionally, the facility hosts more than 20 Springfield-based specialists who see patients locally as part of Springfield Clinic’s robust Specialty Outreach Program. The Pharmacy, a locally owned and independently operated retail pharmacy, is available for patient convenience on the first floor.
On November 1, 2009, a formal dedication ceremony marked the official opening of Springfield Clinic Taylorville. Local physicians and staff were joined by officials from the City of Taylorville, Taylorville Memorial Hospital, and Springfield Clinic for the Open House event. More than 200 community members attended the event and expressed delight over the spacious and attractive new offices in Taylorville.
The building was designed by Archimages, an architectural and interior design firm from the metropolitan St. Louis area, and constructed by Harold O’Shea Builders of Springfield. The $12 million project was funded by Memorial Health System and is leased to Springfield Clinic.
